Dr. Jbeli earned his medical degree from Tishreen University in Syria in 2010. He moved to the United States in 2012 and joined the Mayo Clinic as a postdoctoral research fellow, focusing on cardiovascular aging research. He completed internal medicine residency training at the University of South Dakota in 2017, followed by fellowship training in pulmonary and critical care medicine at the University of Minnesota, completed in 2023. During fellowship, Dr. Jbeli focused on interstitial lung disease (ILD) and received additional research training as a T32 fellow, concentrating on fibroblast biology and its role in idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). He joined the University of Minnesota faculty in 2023, with a clinical focus on diffuse parenchymal lung disease and a research emphasis on clinical translational science.
