Summary

I am a cardiac and pediatric anesthesiologist and educator. I am particularly interested in education with simulation. I believe best patient care and best healthcare education can be delivered in diverse, equitable and inclusive environment. Our department and University of Minnesota are working towards achieving this goal.

  • Active member of The Board of Directors and Champions Executive Committee of SimPORTAL at the University of Minnesota. 
  • Instructor of third and fourth-year medical students and anesthesiology residents, PGY-1 through PGY-4.
  • Prior to joining the University of Minnesota, she was employed at the University of California, Davis, as a cardiac anesthesiologist.
  • Doctorate and Masters degrees in Cardiology from the University of Ljubljana, Slovenia, investigating neo-intimal in-stent re-stenosis and inflammatory involvement in acute coronary syndrome in the laboratory of Dr. Ganz at Cedars Sinai Medical Center, California (UCLA). 
  • Areas of special interest: Translation of clinical skills, medical knowledge, and attitudes obtained in the simulation laboratory in the clinical world. 
  • Personal Interests: Mission trips to the world's underdeveloped areas to provide medical care to children in need.
