Elizabeth Rogers, MD, MAS

Dr. Rogers is an Associate Professor in Internal Medicine and in Pediatrics and serves as the Director of the Division of General Internal Medicine. She is board certifi ed in both Internal Medicine and Pediatrics, and is faculty in the Program in Health Disparities Research. Her research focus is to design, implement, and evaluate pragmatic, patient-centered interventions based in safety net primary care to optimize care quality and improve health outcomes in patients with multiple chronic conditions, including diabetes. These strategies aim to support self-management by considering psychosocial and medical complexity, such as understanding and mitigating patient-perceived treatment burden and social needs, and by utilizing team-based approaches, such as community health worker models of care. Her funding sources include the NIH and ARPA-H, and she serves as UMN site co-lead for the multicenter clinical trial, the PREvention of Cardiovascular and DiabEtic kidney disease in Type 2 Diabetes (PRECIDENTD).
