The Stromnes Laboratory investigates the mechanisms that govern immunotherapy response and resistance in cancer, with a focus on pancreatic cancer. The lab's research examines how tumor-intrinsic features, the tumor microenvironment, and T-cell receptor properties regulate the migration, longevity, function, and persistence of antigen-specific T cells, including tumor-specific CD4 T cells. By integrating studies of human tumors, genetically engineered mouse models, and advanced T-cell engineering, we develop next-generation cellular therapies and combinatorial immunotherapeutic strategies that modulate identified pathways to overcome immunotherapy resistance and enable durable cancer control.
