Tseganesh Selameab, MD, is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Internal Medicine at Hennepin County Medical Center. She works as a primary care doctor, splitting her clinical practice between the medicine clinic and the international medicine clinic. Dr. Selameab also attends on the inpatient service and serves as an Associate Program Director for the Internal Medicine residency program. Dr. Selameab grew up in Ethiopia and has lived in Minnesota since middle school. She got her BS in microbiology from the University of Minnesota and stayed at the University for Medical School, graduating in 2004 with her MD. She completed her Internal Medicine residency, in the primary care pathway, at Boston University and returned to Minnesota to work at HCMC in 2007. Dr. Selameab is passionate about education and has worked with students as the primary care selective site coordinator, informal mentoring through student national medical association (SNMA) and continues to work closely with students rotating through HCMC. She is actively involved in resident education and was instrumental in creating the primary care pathway in the HCMC Internal Medicine residency program. When not at work Dr. Selameab loves spending time with her family, dancing with her husband, reading and indulging in the occasional, guilty pleasure, of reality tv.
