Dr. Tamas Alexy received his MD and PhD at the University of Pecs. After a few years in research, he pursued residency training in Internal Medicine at the University of Minnesota. Subsequently, he completed his General Cardiology and Advanced Heart Failure/Transplantation Fellowships at the Emory University, School of Medicine.
Dr. Alexy joined the faculty of the Cardiovascular Division, Department of Medicine, at the University of Minnesota in 2017. He is currently the Medical Director of the Adult Heart Transplantation Program and the Lillehei Research Institute. He is a clinical research scholar and has dedicated his work to improving outcomes for individuals with advanced heart failure.
Dr. Alexy is a member of the Heart Failure Society of America, International Society for Heart and Lung Transplantation, American College of Cardiology, International Society for Clinical Hemorheology, International Society of Biorheology, and European and Hungarian Societies of Cardiology. He has over 190 peer-reviewed publications and serves as the principal investigator on numerous heart failure-related clinical trials.
