    Catalog Description: Covers the foundational knowledge and skills necessary for learning clinical medicine. The course complements Scientific Foundations course-work within the MS1 required curriculum, and prepare students to fully engage in clinical rotations in Years 3 and 4.
    Consists of two main concepts:

    • Clinical Skills - Physical Exam and Interview tutorials: focuses on communication with patients, interviewing skills, physical exams skills, ultrasound, and professionalism. Clinical Skills Tutorials are coordinated with foundational science curriculum. 
    • Medical Arts and Social Sciences (MAS) - Quality Improvement and Patient Safety: An introduction to quality assessment and improvement, patient safety, teamwork, and leadership.

    Prior to Fall 2019, this course was 5 credit hours.
