Catalog description: Provide students with a realistic image of Family Medicine in a community setting; to expose students to the roles of a family physician in his/her professional, personal and social life. Enable students to work closely with the preceptor, staff and personnel of clinic and hospital to experience all aspects of the practice of Family Medicine.The attainment of clinical knowledge is an important but secondary objective of the preceptorship. The student will synthesize and apply their developing fund of academic knowledge in the care of patients.
