Course description: The Neuro / Behavioral Medicine II course provides an interdisciplinary study of complex processes of the human nervous system, including cortical brain processing, brain pathologies, and psychopathologies. Specific topics include integrated physiology and pathology of higher brain processing; genetics, pathology, and pharmacology of brain disorders; and normal and abnormal human behavior. The content of this course will include roughly the second half of the current NMED plus the second block of SoBe I, which includes mainly psychopathologies. Neuro / Behavioral Medicine II will start with higher-order brain functions, brain pathologies, pediatric neurology, sleep-hunger, and abnormal behaviors.
