Catalog Description: Ideally, an interested student will have rotated through the radiology clerkship (RAD 7101) prior to the research rotation, but this is not required. After consultation with staff, the student will perform a defined, radiology related research project appropriate for the student's level of experience and interest.
The radiologists listed below frequently work with medical students. As the rotation is short, we must make efficient use of time. Interested students should seek out a mentor based on their interests PRIOR TO REGISTRATION FOR THE ROTATION and should confirm that the dates for the rotation will work for both the mentor and the student. Additionally, IRB form preparation should begin prior to the start of the rotation so that a student may begin working on a project on the first day of the rotation.
Elective interest for research faculty
Students should complete CITI research training (if they have not already done so) prior to the start of the rotation. (https://research.umn.edu/units/irb/education-training/citi-training)
To register for the research rotation, the student should communicate to the coordinator:
- The name of the mentor
- The mentor-confirmed dates of the rotation
- Either CITI training confirmation or a plan to complete CITi training before the start of the rotation
