Details

Course Description: This 8 week required clinical clerkship focuses on the evaluation and treatment of patients with surgical diseases in the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of care. The course is designed to provide medical students with clinical experiences and didactic opportunities with the aim of developing core knowledge and skills essential for all physicians. In addition to participating the care of general surgery patients, students may have the opportunity to take part in the anesthetic care of patients undergoing a variety of surgical procedures and gain exposure to surgical subspecialties or outpatient surgical care in a clinic setting.
