Aspirin Habits Unchanged Following Recommendations from U.S. Doctors

A doctor issued guideline recommending that all adults take aspirin daily to reduce the risk of heart attack and stroke seems to have had little effect on adults a new study finds. In 2009, the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force (USPSTF), a government-backed panel of independent physicians, recommended that all men between the ages 45 and 79 and women between the ages 55 and 79 should take aspirin daily to reduce their risk of heart attack and stroke. The recent study found that only 43 percent of those recommended to take the drug had done so between 2007 and 2015.
