Faculty and staff from the Department of Medicine’s Office of Faculty Affairs and Diversity received an award for their poster at the 2019 AAMC Group on Faculty Affairs (GFA) and Group on Women in Medicine and Science (GWIMS) Joint Professional Development Conference.


Titled “A Longitudinal Study of Gender Equity in Faculty Compensation in a Large Academic Department of Medicine,” the poster was awarded Best-in-Class for equity and diversity. 

Dr. Joseph said, "Medical schools around the country are finally paying attention to gender disparities in compensation. Our department has been doing a formal salary equity analysis every year since 2011, and it is rewarding to receive this recognition from AAMC GFA for our work."
