Dr. Biros Receives Advancement of Women in Academic Emergency Medicine Award

Due to her distinguished contributions to the advancement of women in medicine, Michelle Biros, MD, MS, has been selected to be this year's winner of the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine Advancement of Women in Academic Emergency Medicine Award. Dr. Biros was selected among a distinguished pool of candidates to win this years award presented by the Society for Acedemic Emergency Medicine (SAEM). 

The award recognizes an SAEM member who has "made significant contributions to the advancement of women in academic emergency medicine."

Dr. Biros is a professor of emergency medicine and vice chair of research for the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is currently the principal investigator for the University of Minnesota hub of the National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS) funded Neurological Emergencies Treatment Trials network and the co-PI of the University of Minnesota regional coordinating center for the NINDS funded Stroke Net.
