Opioids Become Major Minnesota killer

Featuring Sheila Specker, MD, Department of Psychiatry, featured in story about rising opioid abuse in Minnesota where opioid overdoses killed more Minnesotans than traffic accidents in 2016. Opioids were blamed for 395 deaths while 392 people died in traffic accidents. Fortunately, Minnesota has the fifth lowest rate of opioid prescriptions in the country.
