U.S. News & World Report Recognizes University of Minnesota Medical Center As One of State’s Top Hospitals
MINNEAPOLIS, MN - August 14, 2018 - U.S. News & World Report recognizes University of Minnesota Medical Center among the top five hospitals in the Twin Cities and Minnesota in the 2018-19 “Best Hospitals” rankings.
The University of Minnesota Medical Center Cancer Care program is ranked 33rd nationally in this year’s rankings, improving from last year’s spot as 37th. Each year, U.S. News & World Report evaluates more than 5,000 hospitals across the nation, assessing objective measures such as patient survival, infection rates, the number of times hospitals perform certain medical procedures, nurse staffing rates, and more. Hospitals are ranked nationally in adult care specialties, and select procedures and conditions.
“This incredible recognition goes to our phenomenal team of physician leaders who work tirelessly to improve patient experience and outcomes, leverage all disciplines, and are dedicated to our mission of providing top-tier patient care to the communities we serve,” said Jakub Tolar, MD, PhD, Dean of the University of Minnesota Medical School and Vice President for Clinical Affairs.
The hospital’s orthopaedic care program is now on the “Best Hospitals” list this year ranked 45th in the nation.
