Initiated in 1996 as a result of the generous trust bequest from Ms. Muriel Whiteside, the Whiteside Institute for Clinical Research is a collaboration of the University of Minnesota Medical School, Duluth Campus and St. Luke's Hospital. The Whiteside Institute strives to promote collaborative research in the region with focus areas of cancer, lung, and heart disease.
