Catalog Description: The students will be exposed to all aspects of burn care including small outpatient burns as well as massive life threatening burns. The students will follow patients from admission through fluid resuscitation, surgical excision and grafting, outpatient follow-up, and rehabilitation. Students will learn to recognize and treat burns of various stages, treat burns of various st electrical injuries, and chemical injuries. They will also learn to recognize abuse, indicators of infection in the burn patient, and rehabilitation problems.

Typical weekly schedule/Deliery Mode: M-F, 6-7:00am start time with the obligation to make rounds on some weekend days at the request of faculty or chief resident, depending on clinical work demands.  Students will make rounds with the burn surgery team and will provide bedside operative care.
