New Study Sheds Light on MN Homeless Youth
A new study, published in the journal Pediatrics, found that teenagers who are homeless were twice as likely to be emotionally distressed, have suicidal ideation, and attempt suicide than their peers who did have houses. Of the 60,000 participants, four percent indicated that they were homeless within the past year.
“It’s hard to be healthy when you don’t have a house,” said Dr. Andrew Barnes, Department of Pediatrics, in an interview with The Daily Beast.
