Year 1 + 2 Educational Innovation Award

The Medical School and the University of Minnesota Foundation invite nominations for the Outstanding Medical School Educational Innovation Award. Up to four awards will be presented, two to a Year 1 and two to a Year 2 faculty members. The faculty members selected to receive the award will each receive a $1,000 award.

Eligibility

The purpose of the award is to recognize faculty who have developed outstanding innovations in the education of medical students. The Medical Education Honors and Awards Committee will select recipients. Medical School faculty who have previously received the award are ineligible. Nominees should be judged to have contributed substantially to innovation in medical education.

Criteria

Developed outstanding courses/curricula or innovative educational programs, consistent with educational learning theory, that helped you or others to learn.

Nomination Information

Nomination materials must include a nomination letter with up to 3 signees, the nominee's CV, and a supporting document (400 words or less) from the nominee describing their innovation in education, including teaching, program development, and advising. The nomination form and all materials should be submitted electronically as a single PDF. Award winners will be selected by the Medical Education Honors & Awards Committee.
