Dr. Sithara Vivek is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology at the University of Minnesota Medical School and a University of Minnesota BIRCWH K12 Scholar. She earned her PhD in Bioinformatics and Computational Biology from the University of Minnesota and her MPH in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences & Technology (SCTIMST) in India. Her interdisciplinary training spans molecular epidemiology, bioinformatics, biostatistics, and computational biology, with expertise in longitudinal population studies, biomarker research, multi-omics analysis, and machine learning.
Dr. Vivek collaborates across several large NIH-supported studies of aging, cardiovascular health, and dementia. Her work brings together epidemiologic, molecular, and computational approaches to study aging and chronic disease in diverse population cohorts. She received Young Investigator Awards from the Academy of Clinical Laboratory Physicians and Scientists in 2022 and 2023.
