Catalog Description: The course is intended to introduce students to the multidisciplinary field of hospice care. The rotation will be based out of AccentCare Fairview Hospice - West. Primarily students will spend the rotation working with the hospice care consult team; seeing hospice patients with physicians and other practitioners on the multidisciplinary team, including nurse practitioners, social workers, and spiritual health providers. This course requires travel by car to locations across the Twin Cities. A typical day may include visits at multiple sites. Some sites charge for parking.
