Catalog Description: This is a unique rotation that will allow students to participate in didactics to gain an understanding of the basics in toxicology, specifically at the Poison Center. Once didactics are complete, the students will be able to apply what they’ve learned by taking Poison Center phone calls and managing exposures real time.

For a 2-week rotation: Students will be participating in didactic learning which includes lectures given by Poison Center staff, student/resident lead topic discussions, and additional activities to facilitate learning.
For a 4-week rotation: During the initial two weeks of the rotation, students will be participating in didactic learning which includes lectures given by Poison Center staff, student/resident lead topic discussions, and additional activities to facilitate learning. Once the didactic portion of the rotation is complete, students will answer Poison Center calls, providing real time recommendations to callers under the direct supervision of the Poison Center pharmacists. Students will document cases in the Poison Center database. Note: Schedule may vary depending on co-rotators.
