National Background Study

Currently Stanford and Essentia clinical locations (mostly in Northern and Central MN) require medical students to have a passing national background study (NBS) in order to rotate at their sites.

All Duluth students are required to complete a NBS by August 1st prior to fall semester. Students who are not compliant are not allowed to participate in rotations fall semester. Lack of participation in rotation could lead to failure of the course. A registration hold will also be placed on your student record preventing spring enrollment. Consequences of not being compliant could lead to dismissal.

Twin Cities students who will need to complete the national background study will receive an email with instruction.
