2018 White Coat Ceremony
The White Coat Ceremony is a rite of passage that serves to welcome new medical students to the profession and reinforce the value of humanism as foundational to medicine. At the ceremony, students receive their first white coat in front of family and friends, medical school administration, and their peers.
It is during this ceremony when students recite their oath. This sacred pledge dates back hundreds of years and affirms each student to abide by a strong set of ethical standards, commitment to their patients and the utmost quality of care.
This year's White Coat Ceremony will take place on Friday, August 24 at Northrop Auditorium. Doors open at 1:30 pm with the ceremony beginning at 2 pm. The ceremony will last approximately an hour and a half. Tickets are not required for entry, and all seating is first-come, first-serve.
